RFJS advanced in partnerships, knowledge production and collective strategies for advocacy in 2021

The 2021 Executive Report of the Philanthropy Network for Social Justice (RFJS) is now available on the institutional website.

The year was very significant in terms of collective learning with member organizations and the construction of programmatic strategies, partnerships and in the field of knowledge production in order to promote its mission of strengthening and expanding the field of community philanthropy and social justice .

The Network ends 2021 with many advances and is heading towards 10 years of existence

The year 2021 was very significant for the Philanthropy Network for Social Justice (RFJS) in terms of collective learning with its member Funds and also in the construction of programmatic strategies, partnerships and in the field of knowledge production in order to promote its mission to strengthen and expand the field of community philanthropy and social justice.

The Network has made great strides in developing collective advocacy strategies to position the community philanthropy and social justice agenda in the Brazilian philanthropic ecosystem.

For the RFJS team, 2021 was marked by the growth of the Network, the consolidation of new partnerships and the development of different programs, which points to an even more powerful performance in 2022.

Overview of the response of RFJS member organizations in the context of the pandemic

Overview of the response of member organizations of the Philanthropy Network for Social Justice in the context of the pandemic: resources donated to civil society

The 12 organizations that make up the Philanthropy Network for Social Justice are social justice funds, community funds and community foundations, donor organizations that support civil society in Brazil (CSOs, NGOs, movements, groups, collectives, networks, leaders, rights defenders etc.). They donate to initiatives in the field of human rights, social justice and community development and were created throughout the 2000s in the face of a reduction in resources from philanthropy and international cooperation to respond to the vacuum in funding generated within civil society, a consequence this withdrawal process.

Preliminary results of the survey on the performance of RFJS member organizations

Since 2018, the RFJS coordination has been carrying out annual surveys among its members with the purpose of mapping and producing information about its activities in order to be able to count on an updated database (which allows the construction of historical series), but mainly to provide visibility to the work carried out in the field of Brazilian philanthropy, focusing on the areas of social justice, human rights and community development.
