Philanthropy that Transforms: Mapping of independent donor organizations for civil society in the areas of socio-environmental justice and community development in Brazil

Carried out by Rede Comuá in partnership with PonteAponte, the mapping of thematic, community funds and independent community foundations that work with donations to civil society organizations in the areas of social justice and community development identified 31 organizations, operating in different regions of the country. By contributing to issues of racial equality, indigenous and traditional populations, environment, gender, sexuality, among others, and focusing on populations that have historically been denied their rights, these independent philanthropic organizations play a key role in strengthening society civil society and, consequently, Brazilian democracy. In this way, Mapping, the first of its kind in the country, brings to light these ways of carrying out community philanthropy and socio-environmental justice and their significant contribution to the fight for access to rights.

At the event, mediated by Graciela Hopstein, Executive Director of Rede Comuá, in addition to sharing mapping findings, actors from the philanthropic field will be invited to share their reflections and analyzes about the publication.
