The month of September, dedicated to giving visibility and debating the practices of community philanthropy and socio-environmental justice, focused debates, productions and sharing of knowledge around these agendas.

Rede Comuá, its member organizations and partners collaboratively promoted 39 in-person and/or virtual activities, which generated 177 hours of transformative content for Brazilian philanthropy and more than 200 materials produced and/or shared.

Publications such as mapping of independent donor organizations, research carried out by Rede Comuá and pontAponte; the ebook “Stories of Black Philanthropy that transform communities”, from the Agbara Fund;  “Baixadeira Philanthropy Collection: stories and stories”, from the Baixada Maranhense Institute; the campaign about transformation stories, carried out by iCS; the campaign Community Philanthropy, carried out by ICOM; the videocast Inclusive Communication and Digital Accessibility, from BrazilFoundation; document Guidelines for Environmental Climate Education, launched by FunBEA; among many other contents from Network organizations and partners.

Throughout the month, seminars, meetings, debates and face-to-face connections were held in different regions of the country: the event Root Philanthropy was carried out by Instituto Procomum in Santos (SP); the seminar Climate, Socio-Environmental Repair and Community Philanthropy was carried out by FunBEA in São Sebastião (SP); The Community initiatives fair, carried out by Tabôa Fortalecimento Comunitário in Uruçuca (BA); O Guide Circuit for Climate Justice was carried out by Casa Fluminense in Itaguaí, Nova Iguaçu and São Gonçalo (RJ); the table Dialogues about the importance of community philanthropy in conserving the Cerrado and the culture of its people was promoted by ISPN in Brasília, during the X Encontro e Feira dos Povos do Cerrado.

The first meeting of the Territorial Alliance, made up of seven organizations from the Comuá Network (Casa Fluminense, FunBEA, ICOM, Instituto Comunitário Baixada Maranhense, Instituto Procomum, Redes da Maré and Tabôa Fortalecimento Comunitário).

The Saberes Program, from Rede Comuá, promoted debate with scholarship holders, addressing processes, challenges and opportunities in carrying out research, during the panel Building Local Knowledge. Two scholarship holders also promoted debates about their research: Ronaldo Eli coordinated the webinar Terreiros Community Action: Paths and Challenges for Resource Mobilization and Jész Hipólito coordinated the live Narratives of black women about the field of philanthropy in Brazil.

We had two international events, which echoed the Month of Philanthropy that Transforms in other networks: Measuring what matters on the way to Bogotá: combining studies and practices, in preparation for the #ShiftThePower Global Summit taking place in December, in Colombia; and the conversation on access to justice, which was part of the programming of the Annual Forum on Human Rights Defenders in Environmental Affairs in Latin America and the Caribbean, in Panama, with the participation of the Brazil Fund and the Casa Fund.

This movement does not end with the month of September. A lot of content and campaigns were produced, we had many meetings and many alliances, which will bring important developments for the impact on the philanthropic ecosystem. Follow Comuá's networks to learn about the results of this mobilization and access the Transforma platform – content hub for community philanthropy and socio-environmental justice, which brings together knowledge generated on these agendas.
