Narratives of Black Women about the field of philanthropy in Brazil: future perspectives from the North and Northeast

 

With the purpose of shortening distances and promoting meaningful connections, the virtual event entitled “Narratives of Black Women about the field of philanthropy in Brazil: future perspectives from the North and Northeast” aims to offer a comprehensive view of the experiences of organizations of black women in the context of Brazilian philanthropy.

At this meeting, five leaders will share their future perspectives on the challenges of accessing and maintaining the presence of black organizations on current political agendas, aiming to contemplate the future of philanthropy and what is conventionally called black philanthropy.

The debate will feature the following guests:

  • Valdecir Nascimento, representing the Odara Institute of Black Women (BA)
  • Halda Regina, representing the Piauí Black Women's Institute – Abayomi (PI)
  • Durica Almeida, representing the Institute of Black Women of Amapá - IMENA (AP)
  • Terlúcia Silva, representing the Collective of Black Women in Paraíba (PB)
  • Maria Malcher, representing the Center for Studies and Defense of Black People in Pará (PA)
  • The panel will be mediated by Naiara Leite, from the Articulation of Brazilian Black Women's Organizations (AMNB) with a presentation by fellow and researcher Jész Ipólito.
