Rede Comuá, together with its member organizations and partners, promotes, in September, a series of activities aimed at demonstrating the potency and importance of community philanthropy and socio-environmental justice to foster social transformation by supporting civil society organizations and movements in their struggles for rights.
The movement, which started in September 2022 after the ten-year seminar of the Comuá Network, will be part of the Brazilian philanthropy calendar annually as a space dedicated to addressing the practices and strategic performance of this philanthropy in the sense of strengthening civil society and, so does democracy.
During the month of September, activities open to the public and others will be promoted that will mobilize territories and organizations of the Comuá Network, focused on innovative arrangements, and specific audiences, and the results of which can later be shared with the general public.
Among the scheduled activities, the following stand out:
► 05/09 – Launch of the publication Philanthropy that Transforms: Mapping of independent donor organizations for civil society in the areas of socio-environmental justice and community development in Brazil
The publication mapped and provides information on 31 organizations that work in the field of independent and community philanthropy in the country, and is carried out by Rede Comuá in partnership with PonteAponte. The launch will be online, subject to prior registration. Comuá will soon publish the name of the speakers and the link for registration.
► 14/09 – Building Local Knowledge: Community Philanthropy as a Path to Social Justice
A debate will be promoted about the Saberes Program, with the participation of the scholarship holders who participated as members of the first class, who will address the results and findings of their research. The initiative offers grants for the systematization of knowledge produced by social leaders and experts who work in the fields of community philanthropy and social justice. The event will be online, subject to prior registration. Comuá will soon publish the link for registration.
► 09/26 – Transforma, the content hub for community philanthropy and socio-environmental justice
The platform Transform will be made available to the public for consultation on knowledge related to community philanthropy and socio-environmental justice, concentrating materials produced by members of the Network and partners, thus facilitating access to all this knowledge produced.
