Social movements play a fundamental role in defending and promoting rights, significantly contributing to the construction and consolidation of democracy and resistance against authoritarian regimes in Brazil.This study, based on a literature review, interviews, and focus groups, explores the role of Brazilian philanthropy in funding and supporting social movements. It examines their self-financing strategies, the challenges they face, and the impact of philanthropic support on their activities.It also analyzes the differences in philanthropic approaches and highlights the need for greater engagement from private social investment to strengthen social movements and promote meaningful social and political change.
