How can ISP (Private Social Investment) strengthen community philanthropy?<\/p>\n

Based on this question, Rede Comu\u00e1, in partnership with GIFE (Group of Institutes, Foundations and Companies) has been developing an initiative that aims to promote the community philanthropy agenda in the field of private social investment.<\/p>\n

The starting point was the elaboration of a diagnosis, which included the participation of social investors and community and socio-environmental justice funds, which aimed to map approaches and practices of community philanthropy that can serve as a basis for building and strengthening this schedule.<\/p>\n

In February, the last stage of the process was carried out, aimed at co-creating an agenda containing guidelines and strategies. The meeting was attended and contributed by dozens of organizations from the ISP field (GIFE members) and independent philanthropy (Rede Comu\u00e1).<\/p>\n

\u201cCommunity philanthropy is a concept in constant construction. During the agenda co-creation process, participants were asked to reflect on what hinders and what strengthens the practice of community philanthropy.<\/p>\n

Distance and lack of knowledge on the part of financiers about the logic and practices of community philanthropy, the difficulty in establishing relationships of trust with supported organizations and the fact that the culture of working in partnership with organizations with ties to the territory were still difficult factors stood out as complicating factors. little developed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have funds that work in conjunction with community-based movements to get resources to the end. The ISP can get closer and work together with these organizations, for example, and this connection can contribute to spreading the distribution of resources\u201d, points out Graciela.<\/p>\n

The findings of this unprecedented study will certainly contribute to strengthening community philanthropy in Brazil, which has vast scope for growth in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Started in 2022, the information gathering is based on interviews and analyzes involving business, family and independent foundations and institutes. The objective is to provide a complete diagnosis of challenges and opportunities for promoting community philanthropy with the ISP.<\/p>\n

The diagnosis should be completed at the end of this semester, when a publication will be launched with the main findings and opportunities to strengthen the community philanthropy agenda.
