Community philanthropy:<\/b> can be defined as a form and force aimed at developing local resources, talents, capabilities and confidence. It is a way of transferring power closer to the territories, so that local populations and actors have greater control over their own destiny.<\/span>\n\nSocial justice philanthropy<\/b>: this is support \u2013 through direct and indirect donations \u2013 aimed at strengthening movements, organizations, civil society groups linked to social transformation, equal access, human and civil rights, the distribution of all aspects well-being and the promotion of diversity and equality of gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, culture and for people with disabilities and neurodiverse people.<\/span>\n\nAlthough there are distinctions in which the definitions of community philanthropy point more to the form, and those of social justice, to the themes and audiences, we are aware that they are not dissociated from field practices.<\/span>\n\n

This call is aimed at civil society leaders, professionals, students, and researchers working in movements, groups, collectives, philanthropic funds and institutions, community-based associations, institutes, and non-governmental organizations, among other civil society entities, who are interested in the production of knowledge about the philanthropic ecosystem in the areas of socio-environmental justice and community development. Individuals in question must be actively working within Brazilian territory.<\/span><\/p>

Applications from Global South immigrants operating in Brazil will also be considered.\nApplications from individuals belonging to the professional teams of Comu\u00e1 Network member organizations will need validation from the organization's representatives\/executive teams (CEOs, executive directors, and\/or coordinators) and\/or governance members.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The Knowledge Program will also prioritize support for individuals belonging to political minorities \u2013 Black people, Indigenous, Quilombolas and other traditional communities, LGBTQIAPN+, residents of urban peripheries, women, people with disabilities, etc., and those committed to issues of equity and the promotion of diversity and inclusion within the philanthropic ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>

Proposals from individuals who have provided or are currently providing consulting services to Comu\u00e1 Network will not be accepted.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

You don\u2019t need a formal relationship (e.g., an employment contract) with the organization\/group\/collective\/movement. We will accept profiles such as legal entities, consultants, volunteers, researchers, among others. Of course not! In the Knowledge Program, academic knowledge production is just one of the ways in which knowledge from different territories can be conveyed, but it is definitely not the only one.
